COVID-19: Coronavirus Does Not Discriminate

Champs Elysees

Bacterial and viral infections generally affect immunocompromised individuals (sick people) more than the healthy public. Such is the case with the 2019 novel coronavirus which is infecting the sick and elderly more as seen in the case of the Life Care Center of Kirkland in King County, Washington State. However, a community spread infection (not related to a known infected case) does not discriminate on who it infects when an unsuspecting public goes about its business as usual. To date, Covid-19 has infected several Iranian officials, the French Minister of Culture, a British Minister of Health, the Director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. So avoiding crowded spaces and observing social distancing (3 ft or 1m apart) is prudent.
